So, uhm, yeah…Harvey

Random Bits of Fascination Posted on September 12, 2017 by Maria GraceJanuary 2, 2018

Important discovery…hurricanes and book launches do not mix well. Some of you might have noticed that the blog has been a little on the quiet side since just before A Less Agreeable Man released. That was not exactly the plan to be honest. A book launch is supposed to be fun and busy, right? What’s more, since January, I’ve been posting on Random Bits of Fascination three times a week, every week, and honestly, I’ve … Continue reading →

One Less Lemon Brownie

Random Bits of Fascination Posted on August 15, 2017 by Maria GraceJanuary 31, 2025

I posted this article about this time last year. Just a few days ago I got another one of ‘those calls,’ so it seemed fitting to revisit these lemon brownies My youngest turned eighteen this week and my grandbaby turned one month old. Time for a family celebration! My youngest is a low-key kind of kid, so we settled on doing a family luncheon for his birthday. All told that should have been easy—right? No … Continue reading →

When I … Continue reading →

A most difficult and delicate issue

Random Bits of Fascination Posted on July 11, 2017 by Maria GraceJanuary 31, 2025

Hard to spot and harder to stop, emotional abuse often slips under the radar. In Mistaking Her Character, I ended up tackling the issue of an emotionally abusive family relationship.  I say ‘ended up’ because I honestly can’t say I set out to deal with the topic when I started the book. The entire family dynamic I had envisioned when I started ended up turned upside down and a far darker, more complex one emerged … Continue reading →

High Tea at Windsor Lakes

Random Bits of Fascination Posted on April 11, 2017 by Maria GraceJanuary 31, 2025

A proper high tea is the perfect way to welcome the start of spring. This weekend I was invited to speak at the Lake Windsor Springtime High Tea, in honor of their late founder, Susan Boswell. The pleasure was all the greater knowing the event supported the Alzheimer’s association and the Windsor Lakes library. What an absolutely gorgeous event and one of the most gracious audiences I’ve ever been privileged to speak to! Just look at … Continue reading →
