Lady Catherine’s Cat pt 2 — 12 Comments

  1. Poor Darcy, attacked by both Lady C and Anne! I certainly hope Ginger is leading him to Elizabeth and maybe the cat could arrange a compromise while he’s at it 🙂

  2. Better a cat on the keyboard than wine in the keyboard; I made the experience yesterday. 🙂
I enjoy Mister Ginger and do look forward <3
    Bye bye
    Doris

  3. Like Darcy, I can feel the trap that Lady Catherine is setting for him. Yep, she played him like a fine violin. Bless his heart… he knows not the mind and prowess of a conniving woman. She is determined to have her way… that Darcy will marry Anne.

I know exactly where the cat is taking Darcy… straight to Elizabeth. Perhaps this will be a time for them to have a more personal talk on why he was escaping Rosings that morning. She isn’t stupid. She should be able to see either Anne’s reluctance or her simply following her mother’s prod… em… pushing. What are Anne’s true feelings? Does she want or expect Darcy’s declaration? Poor girl… has she been thoroughly conditioned over the years to simply follow mum’s dictates or does she really expect Darcy to do as her mother says? Everyone else does… so, why not Darcy? Ginger to the rescue…

  4. Yes, indeed! Ginger will be the saving grace of this story, rescuing Darcy from Lady Catherine’s (and possibly Anne’s, depending on whether she truly wants to marry her cousin or is being pushed and prodded that direction by her mother) desire for a De Bourgh-Darcy wedding while setting Darcy on the right path to Elizabeth. Who knew a cat, even one belonging to Lady Catherine, could be so conniving? 😉

I am so enjoying this short story, Maria!!! Thank you for sharing it with us!!!

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

  5. Loved it! Can’t wait for the next part. I know it’s mean but somehow I enjoy watching Lady Catherine abuses Darcy like this. I feel the more abuse he puts up with, the more determined he becomes to propose Elizabeth and be done with the sad business of marrying Ann.
    Great job Ginger!?

  6. Wiley cat…such a help. Anne is certainly putting herself forward which is unusual for her. Thanks for this chapter.
