Reason #5 Why writing takes so long — 2 Comments

  1. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to laugh at your distress, frustration, or joy, but this was hilarious. I praise you for your endurance and where-with-all [snicker] to deal with all the shenanigans thrust upon your precious writing time by those crib-mates… writing assistance… um… desk dwellers. LOL!! Carry on!!

  2. Yes, cats are enormously helpful when it comes to writing. The strolling in front of the computer screen, stretching, sitting right in the center of your view and gazing deeply into your eyes is their way of attempting to convey the muse’s wisdom. When you don’t get that hint, they move on to the next thing. Sitting directly in your line of sight in front of your screens whilst washing their paws and face and, er, behind parts, show concern for your health. They are helpfully reminding you to get some exercise. Clearly you need a walk to the pet food store to buy their favorite treats. And yes, your mug is quite correct. A cat in your lap is a loving reminder that you need to rest, take it easy, be kind to yourself and feed them treats whilst scratching behind their ears and under their chins. If you care for yourself as the cats remind you to – and that includes appropriate accessories – then the muse will be extra kind to you with the aid of her furry helpers. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
