Reason #11 Why writing takes so long
#11 Thunder is Scary
Look at those eyes. Seriously take a look at them–tell me you could say no to them.
Though I am a dyed in the wool cat person, doggie decided early on that she was one too. (Honest to goodness, when she was a stray waiting for her forever home, they had to let her climb into the pen with the kittens. She simply had to be with the cats!) So, through some kind of waggy-tailed doggy logic, she decided that I was her person, too.
Consequently, though she is hardly a small dog, when it starts thundering, she insists that she fits under my feet at my desk and insists that is the only place to be in a storm. I’d be tempted to say ‘no’ as it is awfully difficult to work with her huddling under there, but, how could honestly resist those big brown eyes?
And now those big brown eyes want to go out. Excuse me…
Aahhh, so cute. I can see completely what you are talking about. Yes, thunder is scary. Thanks for sharing this delightful picture and this post.
Thanks!
Yes, thunder is scary!!!!! My bitch (?) – she-dog is scared as well and she senses it 2 hours before it could start and even when it is quite far away. She goes in the cellar where I have laid a blanket. Fortunately it has not been too heavy where I live, but – living in the countryside – what about the cows and the wild animals?Luckily, my little “man” is sleeping calmly through every thunderstorm.
Enjoy your weekend and thank you for your big and so interesting work

It’s funny, the dog didn’t used to be scared of thunder, it just seemed to start out of nowhere. We still haven’t figured out what kicked off the anxiety for her.
Poor baby! Thank goodness she has you. Love the photo but feel for the dog.
Those eyes just make you want to hug her, don’t they?
