Happy New Year! Welcome 2018

Random Bits of Fascination Posted on January 2, 2018 by Maria GraceJanuary 31, 2025

What do you say to close out a year like 2017 and usher in a new year? Some  reflections on last year and looking ahead to 2018.   So well yeah… hmmm, what to say? To be honest this is the fourth time I’ve tried to start this new year post and I’ve hit a brick wall each time I have.  I guess maybe it’s had something to do with trying to be cute … Continue reading →

New Year’s Celebrations with Old Fashioned Style

New Year's Celebrations 2017

Wenceslas, a 10th century Bohemian Duke, surveyed his land on St. Stephen’s Day (Dec. 26)  and saw a peasant gathering wood in the … Continue reading →

Jane Austen’s Birthday Tea at Cinco Ranch Library

Random Bits of Fascination Posted on December 16, 2017 by Maria GraceJanuary 31, 2025

Celebrating Jane Austen’s birthday in style this year! My darling Mr. Darcy and I were privileged to celebrate Jane Austen’s birthday in style this year.  Our English Country Dance group was invited to do a dance demo for the Cinco Ranch Library at a tea in honor of Jane Austen’s birthday. You didn’t have to ask us twice! An excuse to pull out our regency garb–including the infamous ‘Belle’ gown–and dress up with some of … Continue reading →
