Day 16- 30 Days of Gratitude
Gratitude #16 What modern convenience are you grateful for?
It’s hard to pick just one modern convenience I’m most grateful for. I can narrow it down to two really–indoor plumbing and electricity.
I think it’s pretty obvious why I might be very grateful for both, so for today I’ll just leave it at that.
Oh, yes… indoor plumbing and electricity. I agree with that one hundred percent.
Those are great but I also want to thank GOD that we have modern medicine considering this pandemic. Is that a convenience…maybe not but don’t know if your days of gratitude will afford another chance to be thankful for that.
Water and sewer systems. I think those make the largest difference in our daily lives and daily health. Yes, even including wuflu. Think how many more would have died without the overall increase in health made possible by the lack of outhouses and public wells as the waste and water “solutions” in cities.
I have lived (for short times only, thank God) with outhouses and pails of water brought from the well. It’s do-able, for sure. But hugely effortful, and not fun. I thank God every day for flush toilets and sinks with running water.
