Day 12- 30 Days of Gratitude
Gratitude #12 What do you love about where you live?
I have to say, hands down, spring in East Texas is pretty amazing. Our state sows wildflower seeds along the highways and in spring, they explode into color. There are a number of wildflowers out there, Indian Paint Brushes, coreopsis, lantana, Pink Ladies, spiderwort, coneflowers, but the star of the show is our bluebonnets!
When the conditions are just right, swaths of blue beside the roads run into the nearby fields, blanketing everything in a carpet of blue. And the smell, a soft, sweet perfume rises up and hovers over the fields. It’s like nothing else I’ve experienced. Every year I’m grateful for our spring extravaganza.
Winter were I live Canberra Aus. Beautiful blue skies cold air about once a year it snows.
I love it.
Spring and autumn. I live in the south of France, summer is too hot and winter is boring. But spring is full of the most incredible flowers and autumn the colors of the foliage changing is incredible. Just beautiful. And thank you for your posts, they make me realize that covid or not there is such a lot to be greatful. Barbara
I love the change of seasons. When we lived in Texas while my husband was in the Army we had roses at Christmas and that wasn’t Christmas for me. Tourists come to see the leaves change in our Pocono Mts. We have been blessed with being in the state where the northern variety of trees meets the southern variety of trees so we get to see both. Gardens abound and farms with sheep, cows, goats, horses can be viewed. We are blessed.
I live in south-central KY and we get to enjoy all the seasons. I love that we don’t get the extreme hot or cold but a variety of both in their season. Thanks for these posts that make me think about being grateful.
