One of My Favorites-Mistaking Her Character
Even after all these years, this is one of my favorite books. I learned so much in the process of writing it, it was pivotal in my author journey.
I loved all the twists and turns in this book. It was suspenseful, challenging, romantic and well worded. ~Amazon Review (Mary Ann)
Lady Catherine commands everything except Elizabeth’s heart.
Elizabeth Bennet has spent years watching Lady Catherine de Bourgh control every aspect of her family’s life. So, when she chooses a husband for Elizabeth, she expects obedience.
Unfortunately, Elizabeth has other ideas.
The chosen gentleman is Mr. George Wickham—and Elizabeth has no intention of surrendering her future to a man she neither loves nor respects.
Then Fitzwilliam Darcy comes to call at Rosings Park and is immediately fascinated by Elizabeth. She effortlessly understands everyone around her, including him—something no woman has ever done. She sees past the reserve and pride that have kept everyone else at a distance, leaving Darcy utterly and completely undone.
Lady Catherine is not amused.
Determined to see her daughter Anne wed to Darcy and Elizabeth safely married to Wickham, she will not tolerate any interference with her plans.
But Elizabeth has never been particularly good at following other people’s plans.
And neither, it seems, has Darcy.
