Books and Chocolate-December 2023
What more does a girl need than a pile of books and a bowl of chocolate? Let’s talk about what we’ve been reading and feeding our inner chocoholics.
Oh heavens, I just got a look at my kindle contents and realized just how many books I have yet to read on there! Oh my! I’ve got so much reading to catch up on! Before I dash off to curl up with a bunch of good books, here are a couple of my favorites of the year.
Just so you know, links below are Amazon associate links, so if you buy anything through them, I will get a couple of pennies from that.
Heir of Uncertain Magic
Thanks to house tamer Hulda Larkin, the mischief infesting Whimbrel House has calmed. But if Hulda’s job is done, what does that mean for Merritt Fernsby, inheritor of the remote Narragansett Bay estate, who’s only now coming to terms with his enchanted place in the world?. . .
The sequel to Keeper of Enchanted Room, I’ve got to say I’m enchanted. I love these characters and the world created around them. Victorian and magical, fascinating, I can’t wait for the next in the series.
Souless
Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she’s a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.
This is one of those books that breaks all the rules, in the best possible way. This is most definitey a world i want to visit again, so I’m delighted that it’s a series!
Fair warning, it is a bit spicier than most of my recommendations, but definitely not to hot to handle.

How about free books?
Trapped in Wonderland looks interesting from this one.
I can’t resist a title like Hidden: Dragons of the Crossroads in this one.
Fantasy Series Sale!
I also love the Gail Carriger Parasol series and the Whimbrel House ones! Have you tried the Manners and Monsters series by Tilly Wallace? Absolutely riveting!
Have a beautiful holiday ahead!!
These sound like fun reads!
Gail Carrieger was one of my discoveries last year. I highly recommend her Parasol Protectorate and Cistard Protocol series to star.
