Day 1- 30 Days of Gratitude
Gratitude #1. What is something that made you smile today?
Yesterday I found myself smiling when my son who just moved back to our home town came over to give his dad an early birthday present. Dad opened his gift in the kitchen–most things at home happen in the kitchen. Afterward, my son, who had had lunch with us earlier in the day, opened the fridge and started rummaging through the leftovers for something to eat just like he did when he was living at home.
Perhaps some my feel it a bit forward or inconsiderate, but to me, it said that he felt at home, and what could be better than that?
My daughter in Australia found a site which made cards from the actual drawings my grandsons did for my birthday. She’d paid for delivery on the day but alas they don’t work on Saturday so they arrived today but I was so happy to get them!
My kids are al still living with us (they are still minors). But I would like them to be like your son… even if they move out or have their own families.. they would always feel at home when they come to our old house. It is just like an extension of their new house. Just comfortably at home!!! I will be thankful for that.
