The Darcys’ First Christmas
In which the writer attempts NANO.
About this time I joined up with a writing group that meets online nearly every morning to do writing sprints and cheer one another on. I was working on this project–that I thought would just be a short story (I’ve found it’s often a problem when I think that….) A number in the group were doing NANO projects at the time and I kinda got caught up in the excitement.
I wrote this book in that month and published it shortly thereafter. I love the story–enough to have written four more in the series–but have tiptoed around NANO ever since. Once was fun, but the pressure was too much!

The Darcys’ First Christmas
Elizabeth anxiously anticipates her new duties as mistress of Pemberley. Darcy is confident of her success, but she cannot bring herself to share his optimism.
Unexpected guests unsettle all her plans and offer her the perfect Christmastide gift, shattered confidence.
Can she and Darcy overcome their misunderstandings and salvage their first Christmastide together?
Oh, those first months of marriage. Darcy will forever regret not taking his wife away… far away from everyone until their first child arrived. HA! Well, tried by fire certainly applies here. Bless their hearts. They learned a hard lesson in this story. Thanks for the walk through the memories. I enjoyed the look-back.
I also read this story a while back and enjoyed it.
