Mistaking Her Character
In which the author writes her last fan-ficiton posting.
When I started this one, originally called Wholly Unconnected to Me, I was still posting and interacting on the fan fiction boards. The interaction was great and I really enjoyed it. But about this time the complications of trying to publish and post on the boards became overwhelming and I had to choose one. Publishing won one.
I still miss the fan boards, but I think it was the right choice all in all.
I give you …
Mistaking Her Character
Lady Catherine commands everything except Elizabeth’s heart.
Elizabeth Bennet, daughter of noted physician, Dr. Thomas Bennet, is her father’s right hand in caring for his patients. Lady Catherine de Bourgh’s generosity lured him away from his London practice to move his family to Rosings Park in order to care for her sickly daughter Anne. But his good income comes with a price: complete obedience to Lady Catherine’s every whim.
The great lady controls every aspect of the Bennet household, from the shelves in the closet to the selection of suitors for the five Bennet daughters. Now she has chosen a husband for Elizabeth– Mr. George Wickham—whether Elizabeth agrees or not.
When Fitzwilliam Darcy, Lady Catherine’s nephew, comes to visit Rosings Park, he is fascinated by Elizabeth who effortlessly understand everyone around her, including him—something no woman has ever done. But Lady Catherine does not take kindly to anyone interfering with her plans to see Anne and Darcy wed.
Will Darcy be able to thwart Lady Catherine’s plans before Elizabeth is lost to him forever?
Probably my favourite of all your books
One of my faves.
Yes, I enjoyed reading this book and truly despised Dr. Bennet and Lady Catherine. Her father was disgusting!
I own this book and may have to read it again. This was so different from canon and yet, was the same. Dr./Mr. Bennet was a pain and I can’t even discuss Mrs. Bennet and Lady Catherine. GRRR! The hero moments with Darcy were absolutely swoon-worthy. I loved it. Thanks for the lookback.
I have this book and will have to go and read it again. Dr. Bennet was truly a horrible father and I was really glad to see Lizzie leave and Jane stand up to him in the end. I appreciate you bringing these back to our attention!!!!
I did read and enjoyed this story.
