Thank you so much for this post. It brought back memories of my parents dancing the minuet at a party in my childhood home. I only saw them dance this once. Their guests – my dad’s coworkers and their spouses – had asked them to do it, recreating the dance they’d performed at an evening of outdoor skating, the groups’ previous social event. We were all in awe. It was magical. I regret not having seen the earlier occasion when they danced together on ice under the stars. They looked so romantic, the only time I saw them that way.
