  1. Poor April! At first I thought it was going to turn out that she was jealous of Anne, but no – the problem is the nanny, who thinks her station is higher than it is. And of course the prejudice against fairy dragons. Now I’m looking forward to Elizabeth putting that nanny in her place. I wonder if Nanny will resign in a huff, acknowledge April’s status but with a bad grace, or simply realize that any Friend of Elizabeth’s is dominant over the nanny, regardless of size.

  2. I love April. She always tells it like it is. I hope Nanny isn’t vindictive. That could certainly cause problems. I can’t wait to read this. I LOVE this series. Heavy sigh. Who knew we had such a need for dragon stories? I’m so glad you listened to this plot bunny.

I think you meant shawl… error: Why do you not climb up on my shoulder under my shall while it steeps.

  3. Wonderful!! Delightful!! More!! More!! More!! 😀

I have missed Elizabeth and April!! And a “hatchling” for the Darcys!! 😀

Thanks for sharing this glimpse with us, Maria!!

    So excited,
    Susanne 🙂

  4. I wanted to stand up for April. How dare that nanny not let her in. And why would she not let her in?
So excited you are writing this series again. Love your books.

  5. Poor April! I’m glad that Elizabeth will put things to rights now. April has been her great friend all this time and has helped her many times so she deserves to help with Anne.

  6. I read this scene in another blog. Glad for April to have her place in the family reaffirmed. I have enjoyed reading this series.
