Day 13- 30 Days of Gratitude
Gratitude #13 What family member are you grateful for today?
I’ve waffled on about the guys in my life enough already, so I’d like to say something about my daughter in law.
There are a lot of mother-in-law jokes out there and my own parents did not get on their their mothers-in-law. Growing up with that, I decided that things would be different this generation. But there’s no way I could make that happen alone.
My dear daughter-in-law also came into the family with a determination that we were family and that family makes it work. She wanted to love me and I wanted to love her and with that sort of attitude, it’s going to work.
She’s been a joy and a delight to me and I consider it a great blessing to count her among my kids. I love her so much and I’m grateful she has coming into our lives.
I am grateful for my husband of 49-years. His cancer is in remission so we are doubly grateful. Blessings for the remainder of this post. It has been nice thinking about the various areas in my life for which I am grateful.
I am especially happy with my one son-in-law who regularly sends us videos and photos of our two grandchildren and my other son-in-law who is helping me shop for a new computer. All my children are blessings in their own way. My one daughter sends me suggestions as to what to binge watch while I am on my treadmill. My other daughter met me outside for a long walk and talk today as we haven’t seen each other for a while what with this quarantine. And my son also puts his children on Facetime or just texting on his phone so they can stay in touch. His wife also has Mae writing me letters with drawings – Mae is only 5. So we stay in touch. My husband has been doing most of the running out, getting groceries, picking up prescriptions, shopping for cards to send as my immune system is more at risk than is his. I am blessed.
