Lady Catherine’s Cat pt 5 — 13 Comments

  1. Hopefully during their walk Darcy will propose and Elizabeth will accept. With Ginger purring at the success of his plans.
Hopefully he will also console Lady Catherine when she hears the wonderful news!!
Thank you for this delightful story 🙂

  2. I don’t truly care for cats, (Please don’t shoot!) but the Ginger you’ve painted and the pictures you’ve posted, allergies withstanding, make me like this one. I think it’s still too soon for the proposal, but maybe not by too awfully much. I love that you’ve posted the entire story here, (though I wouldn’t mind an epilogue.) I like the simple clearing of matters, and Ginger’s seeming agreement. Thank you for this entertainment!

    • My husband wasn’t a cat person when I married him. But the cats convinced him he actually was! He’s just too funny with them! But my daughter in law isn’t so much a cat person, and that’s ok too.

I don’t have an epilogue in mind for this one yet, but I’ll give it some thought. 🙂

  3. Whew! I can breathe now. I was afraid this was going to tank with this argument. I should always trust you to bring them back to the path of sense and sensibility.. ***snicker*** I couldn’t resist. I love this story. Yay, Lizzy finally knows the truth about Wickham. Great description of her observations of her family members. Yeah, it is a hard truth when you see your family through the eyes of someone else. That had to hurt.

  4. Those revelations came sooner than in canon so now with them in the open they can address other feelings. In canon it was all in that letter and he had gone from Rosings before they could talk further. A proposal may be too soon at this point as Elizabeth needs time to reconsider her feelings about Mr. Darcy. Thanks for this chapter.

  5. Such an intriguing story! It’s so interesting so have Darcy give Elizabeth the information formerly in the letter face-to-face. And then for her to allow his presence while she walks, pondering the repercussions of this new information–that’s a huge step forward…for both of them.

Loved this story!! And Ginger–such a terrific way to link these episodes together!!

    Thank you!

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

  6. A proposal on this walk would be too precipitous. Darcy just needs to continue his gentlemanly and sincere regard for her. Speaking occasionally, perhaps sharing some lovely memories of happier visits to Rosings when his parents were alive. Then asking if he can call on her the next day. Then he’d better skidaddle to his room and write Bingley and get him to London where Jane is visiting the Gardiners. Post haste.

In the meantime, Ginger keeps escaping, Elizabeth keeps returning said feline to Lady C., until she gets tired of the whole Ginger escape/chase/return thing and tells E. to take that dratted animal with her when she leaves……hopefully soon!! OF COURSE ODC do get married, but after the last scene the proposal will be joyous, not fraught. Then Ginger’s progeny will have to come live at Pemberley. The end.

      • I love the way Darcy ran after Ginger to escape Lady Catherine and Anne, who seems to be in better health since she is up early and wearing a walking dress. Perhaps Anne has noticed Darcy ‘s interest in Elizabeth. Now that Darcy and Elizabeth have cleared the air thanks to Colonel Fitzwilliam and Ginger, Darcy should remove himself from Rosing or ask for a room far from Anne, write Bingley an express telling of his error , and invite himself back to Herefordshire to call on Elizabeth, and show one and all that he is not such an disagreeable fellow! Mrs. Bennet would be delighted!
