  1. These bits of research are fascinating! Thank you so much,
Can’t wait for the history of blue. Will you show us a sample of Oder blue?

  2. This was fascinating! There’s so much about how things work that I just take for granted. I loved learning about the hard and skilled work of producing color. Thank you for sharing this research!

  3. This post was very informative. As I was reading… it reminded me of the movie ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ staring [of course] Colin Firth as the Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. In the movie, the servant girl [played by Scarlett Johansson] was sent to the apothecary for a sick child. Vermeer gave her an additional request to also pick up several color pigments/compounds or whatever from the apothecary. Later we see him teaching her how to mix his colors for him. It was amazing to watch how this was done and then to see the vibrancy of the colors as they were mixed. She had a true eye for color and for him to trust her was pretty amazing. In the final portrait, we see the beautiful blue in her headpiece. Thanks for sharing your research, stay safe and healthy.
