Soothing a Baby Dragon — 16 Comments

  1. Oh Maria, I do love your imagination! Elizabeth is doing really well at looking after dragons. Obviously down to observational skills and common sense. I am still waiting to read all three books and just hope Mr Collins and Wickham are dealt with accordingly and that Darcy realises what an asset Elizabeth is.

  2. Bedlow is adorable! Does her perhaps show up in the third book, an adult as is Elizabeth?

Her common sense and memory are remarkable, as is her ability to extrapolate from the known to the possible. This is such a delightful set of tales; thank you!

  3. I love this. So this is how the bones came to be part of dragon lore. I remember her giving them to Pemberley so her gums would not need lancing.

  4. Aaah, and that is how Elizabeth knew how to help Pemberley when she was teething! I wonder when she realizes that adding the essential oils to the bones will help? 😉

Such a delightful tale!!! And little Bedlow and Elizabeth take to each other immediately, of course! (I liked him right away, too!)

The dragon posts make me even more eager for Netherfield: Rogue Dragon!! 😉

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

  5. I love this… Lizzy is so intuitive when it comes to dragons. Even though she is young herself… she instinctively knows what to do. She is smart and she will be a wonderful mistress to an estate dragon [hint…hint] when she grows up. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  6. Love it!!! Getting the background history of Elizabeth as a child and her interactions with dragons adds such depth to the story!!

  7. Bedlow is adorable!!!! Love how you illustrated how instinctive Lizzy is with dragons even as a young girl. I second Susanne’s comment about being eager for Netherfield: Rouge Dragon but I do love the look into how Lizzy’s book started. Thanks for sharing!

    • It’s interesting, writing Lizzy’s early history is really influencing how she’s developing in Book 3 as I carank away at that. I’m really glad for the opportunity to explore her this way.
