A Less Agreeable Man: Deleted Scene #1 — 16 Comments

  1. Thank you Maria. This has given me much to consider especially as it has not been included in the book. I see that Lady Catherine survived the blaze (more’s the pity!) And that her personality was not affected (ditto!)
I will be getting the second and this book shortly then I can read them all which I’m so looking forward to. Good luck with this book and I hope your neighbourhood is getting back to normal.

  2. I had to go back and see if I’d missed something. As Glynis noted, you did give us a good spoiler, but now I’m worried about Fitzwilliam, from the way Mary responded when Lady Catherine asked about anyone else being hurt. I have got to read this book soon! But please, keep the deleted scenes coming! I love them!

  3. I am glad to have read this deleted scene. I had often wondered what happened after the fire. I also witnessed a visual description of Lady Catherine’s actual state. Thank you for posting this deleted scene.

  4. Poor Mary!!! She has had to endure so much from so many different directions. She’s practically a Regency Wonder Woman!!

Thanks for sharing this deleted scene. 🙂

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

  5. I love it…..Thank you for letting us read this deleted scene. I actually could see Lady Catherine’s room. Poor Poor Mary….

  6. I so look forward to reading this book. When I watch a new movie on DVD, I always play the deleted scenes. Many times I can see the editing process that made the decision. Most of the time, I agree that the scene could be cut. Occasionally I’ve found where vital information was also deleted along with the scene that was needed in the story. Since I have not read this story… I have to trust your judgement in that it did not add to the story. I am glad to have read it and will remember it when I read the book. Thanks for sharing it with us.

    • Cutting scenes is always difficult–sometimes I find I have to add a bit to another scene to make up for losing something in the scene overall. It’s nice to be able to share the cut bits here though. Thanks, J.W.!

  7. How low the mighty have fallen! To read of Lady Catherine and her mental and physical deterioration just reminds me how we are all human and some will have that same experience. At least she has good caretakers. Thanks for sharing.
