Christmas Dinner…with dragons? — 12 Comments

  1. Poor Elizabeth. Unwilling to see Mr Darcy’s good side. Beset on all sides by those who should be helping and protecting her. Blind from her own prejudice to the dangers of one who her aunt seems to see through. I am surprised her dragon friends do NOT see the danger of Wickham. Nor (although not in this story) am I pleased that Longbourn himself is so greedy for her that he wants her in the most abject of misery with that nasty Collins. There has got to be a way to get rid of Collins without subjecting Mary to the bum.

  2. Grace,

I found your Commonplace entries from Elizabeth’s journals and they were exactly what I needed to keep the dragons straight. Thank you so much for these companion pieces.

  3. Interesting that Wickham and Collins were in the shadows, I suspect George can see and hear the dragons. And Lizzy is surely too stubborn, you would think that she would be more understanding of Darcy after Pemberly was born.

  4. I can’t believe I have missed this! I was so anxious reading it as I don’t trust Wickham! Why can’t Elizabeth ‘see’ what he is about! The little dragons certainly can sense he is not trustworthy. Now on to the next chapter! Yes, I think Wickham can hear and Mr. Collins is such a toad! I’m curious about Heather’s comment on Mary being able to persuade.
